When signing up to become part of the estate123.com family, there is an option that you will need to choose weather to register as a member or agent.

What is the difference? Well, if you are not a property agent/negotiator, then you should signup as a member. As a member, the feature that you use is almost the same as signing up as an Agent. The biggest difference between signing up as an Agent is that you will have to option to tie your ID to a valid Property Agency.

When you login as an Agent, once you login, you will notice a Verify Account button on the member page. Click on that button to provide some details for verification purpose. Click here to learn more about account verification for agent.

If you already registered and found out that you are not registered to the right member type, you may email us at nina@estate123.com and provide us your username and the agency that your account should tie to. Hope this tips helps.

Map your postings with Google Maps

You can now map your postings with the Google Maps feature that is just added to estate123.com.

Why should I map my property in the map?

Have you ever get calls from your potential buyer and they are not really sure of the exact location of the property that you posted? Now, if you show the location of your property in the map, don't you think you can save time explaining where the property is?

How do I point my property in the map?

When creating a property posting, the first step is to provide the property details, follow by the second step to upload photo of the property. In the third step, you will be presented with a map where you will move the pin to the exact location of your property. Make sure that you point your mouse pointer to the pin and then drag it to the desired location.

I already have existing posting, how can I add map?

If you already have existing postings in estate123.com, just go to the edit screen for the posting that you wish to add the map. As usual, just click on the Save & Next button until you reach the page where it shows the map on the page with a pin. Click and drag the pin to the exact location of your property. Once confirmed, click on Save & Next.

That's all. When the visitors to estate123.com views your posting with the location pointed in the map, they will be able to see the exact location of your property.

RSS on Commercial & Residential Property Review (on My Yahoo)

If you notice on the right panel of the estate123.com main page, there is button labeled "estate123.RSS". What is RSS? I copied this from the estate123.RSS page; "RSS is a notification system used to alert subscribers to changes made to their favorite web sites, blogs, etc. An RSS feed is a text-based headline with a link, and usually a short summary, that is shot over to you as soon as it leaves your favorite news site's. If you're interested in reading the whole article, just click on the RSS feed link, and you will be directed to the full article, simply and efficiently. Think of a feed as being pulled and delivered to you, as opposed to you reaching out to find it."

Let's get started on how you can make use of this feature in estate123.com. I am going to show it through the My Yahoo portal. The first screen below shows my customized "My Yahoo" page. This is where we can include the RSS from estate123.com.

Now, to get started, click on the "Add Content" button on that page and you will get the page that shows you the content that you can add to the "My Yahoo" page. Then click on the "Add RSS Feed" button.

Now, you should be directed to the page to add in the RSS link. You may use copy this link for Commercial Property reviews: http://www.estate123.com/estate123.xml or this link for residential property reviews: http://www.estate123.com/residence123.xml. Then click Add.

Once that is done, then you will see the RSS module added to the "My Yahoo" page. Click on the Option button located above the module that you added and you will get a Preference page to configure the module. You can set how many reviews to be displayed on the module and set alerts so that when new reviews is added, you will receive a notification.

Hope this tips is useful to help you to understand the usefullness of the estate123.RSS. You can use this not only on the "My Yahoo" portal. You may also use it on your favourite browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc. You can also download other third party software to benefit from this. Validity of Property Posted @ estate123.com

Imagine that you spend hours browsing your favourite property website estate123.com looking for the right property and you were so excited that you finally manage to find a few postings that suit your requirements. You then open the property cart in estate123.com to view the postings that you already keep in your cart and start calling the owner/agent of the postings. Then, the answer that you get is that the property has already been sold/rented out. After a few calls, you get the same answer from the owner/agent. This is really a frustrating experience.

As a FREE property portal, such problem is normal and because estate123.com is a FREE property portal allowing members and agents to post unlimited property postings, some data validity measurement has been taken to make sure that postings posted in the website are up-to-date.

For postings that has been created for more then 3 months, they will be automatically be reverted as Expired by the estate123 administrator. If you wish to extend the validity of your postings, you are advised to renew the postings (follow steps below). Otherwise you should update the status to Sold or Rented. By updating your posting information, you are able to show your credibility to the visitors that view your profile.

Hope that with this new feature, we are able to help the home buyers to find their dream home fast.

What happened to the expired/sold/rented postings?

Postings that already expired or those that the owner already set as Sold/Rented can still be viewed in estate123.com. In the main page of estate123.com, notice that there is a new link called "Archived Posting". Click on this link and you will be able to see those postings. Video in your Property Posting

It's been a while since the Video posting features was implemented and it is starting to pick up. The property negotiators/agents starts to see the benefits of posting video in their property listings.

What is video posting all about? Well, it is basically a new features in estate123.com that allows you to present your property information in a more graphical approach. Most property portal today only allow you to list your property with certain number of photos (estate123.com allows 12 photos). We then realize that photos is quite static and you are not able to show everything from there.

Then we think, why not let the users provide video as well? This way, they can show all the details that they wanted and best of all, they can also save time because the potential buyer might be able to see the property from the video first before they arrange for viewing. I think this also helps to save cost & time. :)

Anyway, when video is posted, it will be displayed just above the photos section. The viewer/potential buyer can play the video again and again from this video control.

You just need to follow this 3 simple steps to get your property video posted in estate123.com.

Record your video and then post it at YouTube.com
After posting your video to YouTube.com, you will be able to copy the "Embed Code" from the YouTube.com page when viewing the video that you posted. (The embed code is situated on the right side of the screen when viewing the video)
When creating/editing your property posting, paste the "Embed Code" that you copy from YouTube.com and paste it to a section that shows a message "Embed Code Here".

Once the video is posted, the estate123.com Administrator will verify the video before it is displayed in your posting.

It has been more then 6 months since I last updated this blog about estate123.com. That is because, me and my team have been working very hard in making the site more interesting and most important, to increase the traffic to the site so that our members that posts their property in our site will benefit from it.

Since the last update, lots of new features has been added, to name some of them;

The very first feature that was added was the estate123's Personalization. What is this features about? With this feature, members are able to personalize a page to only show property that they wish to view based on the location that you specified in the My estate123 page. Check this out...

The new site works similarly like estate123.com, the only difference is that, you can only find residential property at residence123.com. If you are already a member at estate123.com, you do not need to sign up again because you can use the same login id as estate123.com. So, don't waste your time to sign up again, just login with you estate123.com username and start posting and search for property that you need. :)
